Sharon Poole began her career over 30 years ago as a transition and employment counselor. She holds an MS in special education, a BS in educational psychology and English, an AA in environmental education, and is a certified rehabilitation counselor and school district administrator. She worked as a high school and community college English teacher, special education provider, teacher-trainer with the technology Resource Education Center, and adjunct in teacher preparation programs. She was instrumental in establishing a successful co-teaching model of instruction at the high school in English, science and math.
Poole is an accomplished staff developer, providing professional development in progress monitoring, differentiated instruction, IEP development, and transition planning. She was the assistant director for special programs and principal of the Alternative Education program serving at-risk Secondary students in the Cohoes City School District. She is currently the executive director of the Council of New York Special Education Administrators and an educational facilitator/trainer for her
