Dr. Massie-Lambert has a doctorate in clinical psychology and currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Children’s Center for Resilience and Trauma Recovery (CCRTR)- a SAMHSA funded, Category III Trauma Services Training Center. She has spent the past 10+ years training and working with children and families that have been impacted by trauma, toxic stressors, and other mental health concerns. She currently assists in the coordination and provision of highly specialized training, consultation, and capacity-building for existing and future New Jersey mental health providers and other professionals serving children from underserved populations. She is also responsible for providing ARC and ARC-Grow training and ongoing consultation across Rutgers departments and within the New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care (CSOC) provider registry. Dr. Massie-Lambert provides training and consultation in Question Persuade and Refer (QPR) Youth Suicide Prevention program as well as Youth Mental Health First Aid to law enforcement, faith leaders, and school personnel in the Burlington County area.
Prior to her appointment at the CCRTR, Dr. Massie-Lambert worked within the Rutgers Health School and community-based programs. As a clinician in the public-school setting, she was responsible for response to psychiatric emergencies, screening assessments, community outreach, and proving individual, family, and group therapy to families that were culturally and socioeconomically diverse. During her tenure in the school programs, she provided consultation to school administration that included needs assessments and coordinating professional development around the topics of trauma informed classrooms, mental health awareness, strategies for intervention/de-escalation, caregiver support, and management of challenging behaviors.
In 2014, Dr. Massie-Lambert received a certificate in post-traumatic stress management and psychological first aid, and over the past several years she has provided trauma informed care as a professional development topic to schools, law enforcement, faith leaders, and local pediatricians.
Over the course of her training and career Dr. Massie-Lambert has worked in a host of other inpatient, outpatient, residential, rehabilitative, and school settings with diverse populations. Her clinical interests include working with individuals across the life span in the areas of trauma, mood disorders, relational issues, and cultural/identity concerns.
With Dr. Isaiah Pickens, she is the co-author of the laminated guide A Trauma-Informed and Culturally Responsive Approach in Classrooms.
